RIO! Against the odds, the Socceroos beat the inclement weather and those mighty futbol warriors from
Iraq to qualify for next year's
World Cup in
Brazil (it's not that far from here - we might pop over to cheer the lads on and check out the brazilians!). I can tell you that
Cesc Fabregas, Xavi Hernandez, Sergio Ramos, Victor Valdes, and
Pedro (he's so good he only needs one name!) et al are officially quivering in their boots at the frightening prospect of possibly having to confront the green'n'wattle juggernaut.
It just so happens that today was also the final day of the
Year 2 futbol season at
King's College (skool finishes next week). So in the spirit of the game and to honour
Holger Osieck (now there's a good meat and 3 veg Aussie name!) and the lads, I ventured out to watch
'The Future Of Oz Soccer' go through his paces - and pick up a nice certificate for
Outstanding Team Player. Check out the surface of the school's playing field in the fotos - puts Etihad to shame!
